The concern was saying anything negative about the Shah.
Resistance was in place.
Students were targets of both sides.
Shah would bring them home for negative comments
about his government.
A lot of Americans thought he was likely a bad guy.
And not knowing any better, few felt bad about the Mullahs.
A Shah back then was seen in America
as a dictator and not as a King.
