Most Americans believe the United States has to get a handle on immigration for one simple reason: Security. Both national security, and security in American neighborhoods.
Only a country that controls its own borders can guarantee that the people welcomed into our nation won’t rob, assault, rape, or murder innocent citizens.
A tragic case from Georgia is smoking gun proof of what happens when this common sense viewpoint is ignored — even a thousand miles from the border.
Police say that a U.S. citizen — a legal immigrant — was assassinated by two illegal aliens, who were hired by a third illegal, for trying to do the right thing and report crimes.
The illegals were hired in order to cover up that Democrats open borders policies had made one of them a millionaire.
Three more reasons to build the wall right away.
Authorities responded to a report of suspicious activity and found Eliud Montoya dead near his Georgia home. The 41-year-old was lying in a pool of his own blood.
When detectives started unraveling the story about how — and why — he ended up that way, they couldn’t believe what they discovered.
Montoya had become a legal immigrant, a naturalized U.S. citizen, the right way. He moved to Georgia to make an honest living. He obey our laws in his search for the American Dream.
But he learned that an illegal immigrant named Pablo Rangel-Rubio ran a tree service in his town and exploited the illegals who worked for him.
Authorities say the 49-year-old Rangel-Rubio only hired fellow illegal immigrants, because he could mistreat them, cheat them, overwork them, and even pocket part of their paychecks for himself.
Officers say the boss had been skimming his workers’ paychecks — making them pay him for the “privilege” of working for him.
The scheme earned the boss and his brother, Juan Rangel-Rubio, an estimated $3.5 million over the years — illegally.
Better yet, not a soul had uttered as much as a peep to the cops.
After all, if his workers are all illegal immigrants, who are they going to tell? They were too afraid of being deported to blow the whistle on their boss—and he knew it.
Since these voiceless workers couldn’t speak for themselves, Montoya decided to do the right thing any red blooded American should do: He spoke up on their behalf.
As thanks, he was brutally murdered.
Montoya reported the whole dirty arrangement to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), a federal agency that monitors discrimination and workers’ rights.
Word got back to Pablo, quick, and he decided no American would stop him from exploiting his fellow illegal immigrants.
Police say that Pablo hired 49-year-old Higinio Perez-Brav (another illegal immigrant) to help his brother murder Montoya — so he’d shut up once and for all.
“This case is an extreme, but clear example of how far certain criminals seeking to illegally exploit the U.S. labor market will go to protect their ill-gotten gains,” said Nick S. Annan, a special agent in charge with Homeland Security Investigations’ Atlanta office.
The three illegal immigrants were charged in federal court last Thursday.
The cops threw the book at the trio, charging them with conspiracy to retaliate against a witness; conspiracy to kill a witness; conspiracy to engage in money laundering; and conspiracy to conceal, harbor and shield illegal aliens.
They deserve to go to prison for a long, long time. But everyone would have been better off — and Eliud Montoya would still be alive — if they hadn’t been able to come into the country at all.
Instead, they took advantage of our open borders, cheated their fellow illegal immigrants, and then allegedly killed an honest American citizen trying to make things right.
Cases like this are the reason why “worksite enforcement will continue to be a major priority” for Homeland Security, Annan said.
Of course, it’s only the tip of the iceberg.
This is just one incident in one conservative Southern state.
It’s nothing compared to the barbarians in MS-13. They kidnap, murder, rape, and dismember their fellow illegal immigrants and threaten to assassinate police officers.
Even though their crimes are a blight on our country, former President Barack Obama made sure that U.S. taxpayers pay illegals’ court bills so they can stay in the country. And House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said MS-13 show off a bright “spark of divinity.”
Now Pelosi and Chuck Schumer and standing side-by-side to block the border wall that President Donald Trump campaigned on, and the American people want.
If we don’t retake control of our border, these murderous tragedies will happen again and again.
They’ll spread from big cities to small towns… and maybe even in your own family.
