What to make of this? I'm just reading tea leaves here, but I'm choosing to believe that management is exercising a sort of triage here. Their private-label business is through the roof, and they are short-staffed (very short-staffed) considering all that's happening. If something's gotta give, let it be the logistics of direct fulfillment. I'm choosing not to be disheartened, in other words, but to view this as an exercise in practical management. I've written Michelle about this and will share her answer if I get one.
It's important to remember that the entire corporate strategy in in flux, as befits a company like RMHB that is a) so early-stage and b) has so many opportunities coming its way. Inevitably, management will focus on some lines of business and de-emphasize or abandon others. Seriously, if we were only a private-label company earning hundreds of millions a year and all the other product lines were abandoned, I'd be fine with that. I'm not suggesting that's in the cards. I'm just saying I'm seeing 'healthy strategic volatility' here. My mantra for now is "Stay tuned and keep the faith."
