President Trump signed an executive order Tuesday aimed at boosting his administration’s support for black colleges, as he seeks a closer relationship with the schools than President Obama had.
The president approved a measure that will move the government’s program for promoting historically black colleges and universities, called HBCUs, from the Education Department to direct oversight by the White House.

President Trump Signs Executive Order Establishing Opportunity and Revitalization Counci
Earlier today President Trump signed an executive order establishing the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council. The Council will be chaired by the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Ben Carson, and comprised of 13 Federal agencies.
The goal of the council will be to stop the redundancy and duplication within the federal bureaucracy, and focus on actual delivery of results to specific economic empowerment zones.
