I think we're in agreement on this to an extent and I see the possibility of a deal/buyout with Platinum as the way to make the legal crap go away. Rather than tying money up in legal fees to let the courts decide, use some collaborative funding to get the 510K's done and bake it in to the offer.
The legal scenario if DECN does sue Platinum will take at least another year to play out, longer if any of the past is an indication. I don't see a bidding war from any of the other majors, this is targeted at Platinum/Lifescan/J&J to clean up the mess and hopefully get on with business. If they can't reach a deal with Platinum, this will drag on for several years, likely with DECN not making a very large splash in the market.
JMO and I do think there is a better than avg. chance a deal with Platinum gets done.
