I mentioned Amazon bought Twitch in 2014 for $1B. It was generating $16MM and losing $4M. They had 20M viewer/users in 2012 and doubling that every year.
Why didn't they make a lot of revenue with that many users?
Because the basic Twitch membership was free. Yeah FREE. What a crazy model, eh?
So nFusz will surpass them on the revenue from that year pretty quickly, but so what. They had a lot more users.
Anyone doing DD knows many of those free users were actually viewers. That's like counting everyone that views a nFusz video as a USER. Any maybe nFusz should do that just to compare apple to apples.
Twitch doubling every year. Sounds familiar?
When nFusz launches the Facebook app it sounded like there would be a free version. Watch people now twist that one and say, but the users are free, you can't count them, but yet Twitch does.
If tech companies are valued on revenue alone as some would like others to believe, why didn't Amazon just buy it for $50M? Why did they pay 62 x revenue for a company that had a bunch of free users? Twitch is now worth 4x what Amazon paid for it.
How are tech companies valued?
Potential Growth
It’s not the present numbers that matter to investors. It’s the growth rate of those numbers. Those numbers can be either users, viewers or revenue. Take your pick.
