Boost that Metabolism.
-FACT: A faster metabolism means your body burns more calories, which in turn makes it easier to drop pounds.
-MYTH: You can’t increase your metabolism because it’s preset by gender and genetics.
-FACT: You have a large amount of control over your metabolic rate!
By making a few changes, you can increase that metabolism and get your body burning more calories! Here are some tips below to get you going:
1) Eat a good BREAKFAST every single day or else your body goes into starvation mode, which slows your metabolism to conserve energy.
2) Do INTERVAL training. High-intensity interval training is the best way to scorch body fat in a hurry. Even after your workout you are still burning fat over the next 24 to 48 hours.
3) Drink CAFFEINE to stimulate your central nervous system by increasing your heart rate and breathing. Coffee or teas…skip the sugary kinds and sodas!
4) Eat more PROTEIN. It helps build and maintain lean muscle mass (muscle burns more calories than fat!).
5) Drink H20. If it’s cold water, your body can burn a few calories heating the cold water to your core temperature.
6) LIFT weights to failure. The repair process pumps up your metabolism for as long as 72 hours after your session
7) Drink GREEN TEA. It contains a plant compound called ECGC, which promotes fat burning.
8) DAIRY (yogurt and milk). Calcium helps your body metabolize fat more efficiently by increasing the rate at which it gets rid of fat.
9) SPICE things up! One tablespoon of chopped red or green chilies boosts your body’s production of heat and the activity of your sympathetic nervous system.
10) Get your IRON. If your levels run low (which can happen during your time of the month), muscles don’t get enough O2, your energy tanks, and your metabolism slows. Beans, turkey, grains, and dark leafy greens (kale, spinach, bok choy, and broccoli).
