"Demand for hemp grain, hemp protein and oil in North America remains strong, but most of the excitement in Canada’s hemp industry is around CBD."
Once again, this assumes only CBD is of interest for most Canadians. Yet how many other products have truly been marketed?
The fact is, we have only just scratched the surface of what is possible with hemp products. Industry experts claim there are at least 60,000 to 70,000 products that could be produced using hemp as the base material right now, and research on new products has only just started. Hemp seed is a major source of high value protein that could feed the world. Scientists claim the world is doomed because we only have about six inches of top soil remaining in most agricultural areas. Yet, hemp actually creates top soil by pulling nutrients from deep within the earth and bringing it to the surface, all while capturing greenhouse gases from the atmosphere and "locking these gases" within the plant's structure.
The one area where the writers could be spot on is in their discussion of how legalization within the United States could hurt Canadian cannabis/hemp businesses. I suspect they are right about this outcome.
