The significance is simply that they lied. I'm not sure if you relate to lies and deception? The significance is that Trump has surrounded himself by criminals. I'm not sure you relate to the ethical nature and wrongness of criminality? The absurdity of it all is that Trump is not denying the relationships, he is denying knowledge of what they were doing for him.
