Illegal Alien Molested His Daughters In Alabama, Ages 7 And 11

MOBILE COUNTY, AL (AL.com) – An undocumented Nicaraguan immigrant who was sentenced to seven years in jail Monday for attempting to sexually abuse his biological daughter and step daughter in Mobile will be deported back to the central American country after his sentence is complete.
Mauricio Alberto Arguello, 47, fondled his children and was later arrested by the U.S Marshal’s Office in Feb. 2017, according to court documents. He was indicted by a Grand Jury in Dec. 2017 and granted a bond of $15,000. The bond was revoked in March after it was discovered that Arguello was in the country on an expired immigration card and posed a flight risk. He has been in jail since March 2018, according to county jail records.
He also violated a protective order aimed at stopping him contacting the children and their mother, according to court documents.
Arguello’s arrest and conviction come during a divisive period for undocumented and documented immigrants in the United States. President Donald Trump, who began his first term in the Oval Office in January 2017, has long been a detractor of those residing in the country without the required documents to do so, specifically central American immigrants, who he has called “criminals” and “rapists” throughout his campaign for presidency and since taking office.
Arguello is specifically accused of fondling both children, who at the time were seven and 11 years old respectively. It’s not entirely clear when or how this happened to the two children, but court documents say that the youngest child was fondled when she visited Arguello at his residence, suggesting the parents had separated. The older child later testified that Arguello had fondled her in the home she once shared with him and her mother.
At the time of his arrest, he was also in possession of a small amount of marijuana. Arguello will also have to register as a sex offender.
