It's Time, Republicans
You have now officially arrived at the crossroads. You have to choose which direction you go in from here; there is no turning back.
Your “pResident” is going down. He probably doesn’t understand that yet – because he’s too arrogant to think anyone can outsmart him, and he’s too stupid to appreciate just how obviously stupid he really is.
Your “pResident” has acted the ignorant, bloviating buffoon since his first day in office. Now his behaviour is becoming even more erratic than usual, and his statements are even more unhinged than the incoherent nonsense he has spewed in the past.
The results of the midterms confirmed that the country is rejecting your “pResident”, and your party. They confirmed that your “pResident” is not the vote-getter he claimed to be – far from it; the majority of candidates he endorsed/campaigned for lost their races. His disapproval numbers keep going up, and his “base” is dwindling.
The “promises kept” meme is dead. Mexico is not paying for a wall, Obamacare has not been replaced with cheaper and better healthcare that will “cover everyone”, and the swamp has been repopulated with the incompetent and the corrupt.
The national debt has been exploded due to tax-cuts for the wealthy, crops are rotting in the field because they can’t be sold due to tariffs, and the migrants who traditionally work those fields are gone.
So that leaves you where you are today, Republicans. You now have to make a choice. Either you continue to support (enable) the madman you put in the White House – or you cut your losses and hope to survive.
Come January, both parties will be gearing-up for the 2020 general election. Do you really want to move forward with a “pResident” who is losing you votes, and just lost you control of the House? Do you really want to promote the re-election of a man who is more than likely to have his crimes and corruption exposed by Mueller before people go to the polls in November 2020? Do you really want to stand behind the pathological liar who is about to be newly investigated by the Democrats now in charge of the House?
Do you really want to try and convince voters that your “pResident” is a patriot – when he couldn’t be bothered to attend Veterans’ Day ceremonies due to rain, and sent the military to the border as a political stunt? Do you really want to encourage the re-election of a “pResident” who sides with our enemies, while dismissing our own intelligence agencies?
Do you really want to spend the next two years Trump-‘splaining your “pResident’s” ludicrous tweets, his bizarre behaviour, the scandals that keep emerging on a daily basis?
It’s time, Republicans. You can’t avoid the inevitable forever. Either you rid yourselves (and the country) of your “pResident”, or you Shoot the Moon – hoping beyond all hope that supporting a pussy-grabbing, self-serving idiot is somehow going to pay off in the end.
You might want to keep in mind that the longer you wait to choose your path, the closer we get to November 2020 – and the closer we get to the revelation of Mueller’s findings. Those revelations would be detrimental to your party now – just imagine how devastating they will be if revealed just before voters go to the polls in the 2020 GE.
The political ball is in your court, Republicans. Now is the time to cut bait and go home – or double-down on protecting a man who has already proven himself to be a complete dumbass who can’t keep his lies straight.
The photos of women and children being tear-gassed at the border have already gone viral around the world. Is that an image you think you can overcome?
Your “pResident’s” ludicrous claims that climate change is non-existent have circled the globe. Is that something you want to get behind?
Your “pResident” continues to lie and pull “facts” from his ass. Is that something you want to continue to defend?
”Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their party,” and, as the midterms proved beyond any doubt, your party is no longer supported by those who now fully understand that they’ve been had.
I look forward to your ultimate decision, Republicans. You have only two choices: dump Trump or continue to support him – knowing that doing so means going down with him, a decision I couldn’t be happier with.
The only silver lining in what is now transpiring is the fact that the GOP is caught between a rock and a hard place. You either put all of your political eggs in the Trump “deplorable” basket, or you admit that you elected a traitor to the presidency – not a winning strategy either way.
Personally, I am thrilled to see you where you are – a pretty much damned if you do, damned if you don’t position.
I look forward to watching which noose the GOP chooses to hang itself with – because choking to death is the end result either way.
