they are (for the most part) self regulating entities (fox/henhouse comes to mind) .. and it's why i like to point out the clearly *false* and bogus bs that gets *reported* by NR .. particularly when it's so egregious (that is why I took the time to show IPIX YTD *volume* running 10M~ *less* @ the EO August 2018 as compared to EO August 2017 and noted in early September that NR would have to address that *issue* and it was .. with a vengeance .. 33M~ for the first 9 months' total of 2018 vs 29M~ for September and October 2018) .. it is also why I did the post showing what NR reported re: the *legal* since CTIX/IPIX first began to trade and revealed *imo* NRs' comfort zone re: reporting *legal* (800k - 850k) and when NR showed *stress* (after cusip change out and mid summer 2018 see below) and when imo NR was working cycles of money (taking PPS up and down .. 2012/2013/2014)
having spent a good part of February 2009 on the phone with Finra (daily reg sho link went live) .. I learned among other things that any MM can be shown on Bid or Ask .. but only those MMs/ECNs who actually do the *activity* .. can report that volume to Finra for the month (MM Monthly is unique to the OTC) .. that is why for example on IPIX for the past few years .. there are really only 3 MMs that matter where showing .. (CDEL/ETRF/NITE) .. and odds are that is also why when one sees say VERT/VNDM/LAFC *blocking/showing* on either Bid or Ask for most of the month .. yet only does a fraction of the Monthly Volume Total .. odds are VERT/VNDM/LAFC is a decoy for one of the 3 noted above
watching the ask side .. i tend to note position 5 .. today was interesting in that a few times .. the usual for weeks on end of 23c .. was relo/d to 35c .. as i've noted numerous times .. no one does smoke and mirrors better than NR .. but rarely does the ask side *adjust* significantly when NR is controlling as *imo* they have been at every turn since pattern change out re: *volume* on 9.12.18 ..

today was clearly a *volume* day for IPIX (this is usually when i post out the tape of trades and some today were fascinating size wise for those of us who sat on bid for days getting bypassed weeks' back with a size far smaller showing then)
but what i've been watching for for a few months now is seeing the volume avgs increase .. when NR did the *imo* handoff of late 2014 (run up) into 2015 (reset down) .. CTIX's volume avgs were on avg running in the 500k to 600k range (price point was a hell of a lot higher in 2015 than in 2018) .. so for example ..
here's the avgs for IPIX back in July when NR *reported* their record legal high of 1.5M~
and note the *liquidity range in relation to daily volume engendered*

to me pattern change outs are always worth noting ..
i've maintained that usually NR only gets retail to sell by taking a stock high enough .. or so low emotions get played by relentless pps compression (usually in conjunction with multi/s repetitive FUD bombarding SMBs) .. imo NR took CTIX/IPIX too low which imo essentially drove out retail traders and the liquidity traders' provided .. making NRs' hole progressively more deep on less and less *volume* ..
that didn't leave NR with too many alternatives imo .. a need to create volume and a pps cycle to entice traders and build that volume base back up (cushion) for mgmt filings/updates .. but also try to keep the pps so tightly constrained as to not lose control to legitimate demand (vs the washed kind done by those who illegally manipulate OTC targets by rote) ... and to be clear imo NR has had leeway to take IPIX up if so inclined .. (they got zooey months' back when YOY -%s dipped into low 30s) .. it's now in the mid -80s and has been for a while .. with very little by way of pps *take up*
and while mgmt's clock continues to tick down .. and retail investors continue to pick off and add IPIX *shares* .. NR reports erroneous *daily volume* avgs when they *report* their legal short position .. makes me wonder if inverted let alone accurate .. my bet is it is not remotely accurate and my expectation has been that IPIX will trigger reg sho with mgmt's execution
