Squires interview reiterates and validates the REC

Quantum Materials Corp is a huge change agent that will have its effect first in displays with their new Rec2020 LEDs transforming that market by eliminating QDEF. Nanosys must be shakin' in their shoes today. The whole display industry must change to the QMC system because it eliminates expensive QDEF film and up to 2 barrier film layers. Brightness is enhanced two ways - first by brighter, fuller color gamut Rec2020 QD and second by the light saved by not having losses passing through three layers of film. That might save 15-20 percent of light loss. So much fewer QD are needed by eliminating film that cost will come down for displays, as well as saving from speeding up display manufacturing by eliminating steps in manufacture by not needing 3 layers of film in the display. BUT, cost of QMC QD LED is a premium product over today's phosphor LEDs and commands a better price AND QMC can negotiate royalties on the displays produced by this system, so profits are more than assured. I believe 8K4K will be shown in force at the January CES. Major OEMs are planning to increase their production next year. ALL the new 8K4K need quantum dots because the brightness and color gamut are necessary for larger screens, and eliminating QDEF film and replacing it with REC2020 QDLEDs as the light and color source saves a ton of money on the larger screens especially, which will bring down their price and make them popular. This is a revolution and I see the entire industry adopting this technology. It makes sense every which way.
