Here is a comment from the Energy ministers recent

"Improving the financial parameters of the energy sector has made it possible for a better liquidity of companies, although Albania continues to have a big challenge I have said, I also want to say here, a great challenge in terms of balancing of energy needs. What do I mean by that? Albania purchases some of the energy from the liberalized or imported sector and only the Drin cascade or inherited assets cover only 55% of the country's needs. That means everything else will be exposed to market prices. We need to make a very prudent economic policy and reform necessary in order to keep mother checking electricity fees because this is a real problem . Finally we had a success through new energy sources, such as the latest solar energy auction that achieved far better prices than the import market, which encourages us to go in this direction with two or three new projects of a utility scale where we will not only breathe foreign investments, but in times when the country needs energy, especially the summer period, we will be able to diversify with these solar power products. I do not want to leave it without mentioning and I believe next year we will start because we are in tendering procedures, we will start one of the biggest investments in the rehabilitation of the Tirana-Durres railway, including the new line in Rinas. This will be the first serious investment in railroads after 27 years. We have also completed the feasibility study for the connection with Montenegro and will begin very soon the engineering study for the Albania-Montenegro line, namely rehabilitation from Vora to Han of Hotit. This is a project that is likely to finance a good deal of soft and soft funding from the EU, as was the case with the Tirana-Durres railway, "said the Minister.
