Man Accused of Attempting To Murder Cops Is DACA Recipient, ICE Confirms
If you listen to the liberal narrative, all illegal immigrants are just innocent victims who want a better life… and you’re a “racist” if you dare question this.
That claim was disproved for the umpteenth time this week.
After horrifying video showing a Hispanic man trying to shoot police officers went viral, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed that he is a so-called “Dreamer” who used lax immigration laws to stay in the country.
“Luis Cobos-Cenobio, 29, faces charges of terrorism and attempted capital murder after a shooting spree that saw him open fire [on] police during two separate confrontations as he tried to escape a routine traffic stop last week,” reported The Washington Times.
According to ICE officials, Cobos-Cenobio was part of DACA, a controversial amnesty program pushed by former President Obama and many Democrats.
“Mr. Cobos-Cenobio had at least two previous arrests, officials said, including one misdemeanor charge in 2015 that brought him to ICE’s attention.
But the Obama administration, which was in office at the time, concluded he wasn’t a danger, and declined to pursue deportation,” The Times continued.
During a routine traffic stop last week, the illegal immigrant pulled a handgun on a sheriff’s deputy and opened fire. Miraculously, no officers were hurt during the ensuing gun battle.
Conservative immigration experts pointed to this case as a prime example of problems with amnesty programs.
“This is the kind of thing that happens when you don’t enforce standards,” Mark Krikorian of the Center for Immigration Studies told The Washington Times.
“The idea that DACAs are all choir boys is obviously untrue, and yet the Obama administration was much too willing to let people with criminal records avoid deportation,” Krikorian elaborated.
We have previously highlighted other cases of illegal aliens, including DACA participants, being involved in criminal activity. Meanwhile, liberals have suggested that President Trump and other conservatives are “racist” for pointing out that a certain percentage of aliens are involved in crime.
For example, multiple networks pulled a pro-Trump TV advertisement and labeled it racist because it showed an illegal immigrant and known cop killer.
Even before being elected, Trump faced harsh criticism for saying that some illegal aliens were rapists and murderers, which is of course factually true.
