1.) Nobody is preventing you or anyone else from saying Merry Christmas.
2.) Many retail stores, because they serve an increasingly diverse customer base, choose to have their employees greet customers with 'Happy Holidays'.
It's ecumenical, it's friendly and it's benign. To most people
Anyone offended by that is imply an insecure, grievance nurturing ass hat who misunderstands the 'meaning of Christmas'.
Which is emphatically NOT ramming your beliefs down anyone else's throat.
Their corporate choice. Want big gubmint to intervene to make YOU feel better.
