What is also correct is that those who attack intellectuals, with broad swipes like Orwell delivered, do it mostly from a base of misunderstanding, intellectual dishonesty and just plain fear.
it's also part of pattern of blaming others and never taking responsibility for their own shortcomings.
Lastly, underlying most of all that, is a resentment of those who made the successful effort to attain a better education.
Just a torch and pitchfork crowd lashing out because of their own failures. it's just so damned obvious.
