LOL...I never spent $50k on an FB ad campaign in a short measurable period, but we often do $20 daily spend for as much as 20k reaches....so your math could be right. Not sure about the ROI though.

Also...some of the discussion I've read about these ads is a little off IMO...

- FB ads are not like an organic search engine. It's also not like ppc adwords. With FB, you choose your targeted audience and daily spend, so you don't fully control the cost per click or 'impression'....you react to it.

- You design a campaign for a specific action. Build followers on your page? Drive folks to your website? Get email subscribers? Convert sales? Brand awareness? The ROI you mention depends on the industry/product and the action goal of the ad. I'm pretty sure that the ad agency has an idea of the expected ROI, but really can't know yet since there isn't much industry data. If they do it right, the ad spend will probably be adjusted based on performance of the different ads/actions.

- The grammar on SB's ads was criticized on the other board, but what they were critiquing wasn't ad copy, it was discussion deck. Typically the ad agency puts together discussion topic and a targeted ad for that topic. Each discussion could be different with a different ad approach. It looked pretty plain to me that the paragraphs were ad topic discussion, generally written in a casual format, followed by the corresponding ad.

Just my two cents.
