49'er Follow Up to K-Town or Kaiserslautern
What most Americans did not or don't know is Kaiserslautern is also home to U..Ramstein Air Force Base
In 1988 there was an Air Show Disaster at Ramstein. I was there, only about 100 ft away from where the Plane Cradled into the Crowd
I was there with 12 Friends, Single Men, Husbands & Wives, and One Child, we had our area laid out with Blankets, One young man was sleeping and we woke him up saying this is the Grand Finale WAKE UP! I being an avid Photographer had the AirCraft in my Lens and was poised to take a shot as the AirCraft came to their crossing point.
All I saw was JP-4 Fuel alive in the Air, Turned and yell RUN, there in front of me was 6 year Old Inca my friends daughther, I scooped her up and began running, the Explosion knock us down, as I got up an African American Woman came running by Screaming, Lots of Pink Skin from being burned. I buried Incas face into my body saying to myself that's the last she will see of anything like that. Going back to our blanket later there were Aircraft parts on them. The only injury was Petes Wife Debbie, she had fallen and injured her Knee Severely and went to Medical Tents that were SetUp. It took years before I attended another Air Show and that was locally here on the Space Coast at Patrick AFB Home to the 45th Space Wing. We were all very Lucky that Day, as you can see here :
There are lots of videos I've seen on YouTube, but one "The Best that Describes It" was up loaded in Feb this year.

About a month after the accident, Bon Jovi gave a beniefit concert for those that died and those that were njured, as 100's were burned.
Very Generous of them.
Just in case anyone is interrested, here's one showing Dorm Life in Germany these days, this young woman obviously doesn't know how lucky is is with her comment at the end "It's a little Small" She's got a Private BathRoom and her own Priavte Room to herself. Her own Bathroom ?? And decent Bed and plety of storage. A far cry from military barracks a decade or two ago. She probably had a room inspection and was Told to keen the place up.

Living OverSeas in the Military - A very good Decscription. He would make a great Recruiter for the Air Force. Although the youngman needs to learn the about Free Military Flights, which he can use. Yea, it might take an extra day to get home, waiting on a flight, but the Cost Savings is Termendious.
