My grandpa passed away last year at the age of 96. He was one of the last living vets to have survived the Omaha Beach landing in Normandy. I get choked up every single time I think about it. He didn't talk about it much. What he did tell me really drove the reality of it home. We definitely need to remember the sacrifices made by those who survived and especially those who have died defending this great country and the entire free world. God bless them all.
