I believe the Justice Dept. understands that the laws they are enforcing need to be changed, but if they are not enforced, no changes will occur. Congress often won't act until it's forced to, so in a way I'm hoping that Justice continues to do some of the more bizarre things Session's ordered so as to force Congressional action.
We are a nation of laws. People here are entitled to their time in court. Last night I attended a lecture about China. One thing that was mention was what they did when illegal drugs were being distributed by gangs.. I believe that both here and there the police pretty much know who're in the gangs, the difference is that there the gangs are rounded up and put in jails, no trials, just jail. Here there is so much fear of the gangs in neighborhoods where they rule that when they come to trial, no witnesses will come forward to convict. I do believe in our system, but there is something to say about how effective other systems can be.
