‘Smash Racism DC’ Organizer ‘Involved’ In Ambush At Tucker Carlson’s Home Issues Statement. It’s Disturbing.
Smash Racism DC, the “anti-fascist” left-wing group that posted video clips of the Wednesday night 20-person ambush on Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s home, has issued a statement concerning the attack.
The statement erroneously condemns Carlson as a promoter of “white supremacy” and stunningly justifies the attack on the host’s family for such alleged promotion.
While Carlson was taping his show for Fox News, “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” a mob of about 20 people, per D.C. police, vandalized Carlson’s home and driveway, smashed his front door, yelled threats, spoke of bringing over a “pipe bomb,” and demanded he leave town. Mr. Carlson’s wife was home alone at the time of the ambush, though the couple has four young children together.
On Thursday, reporter Alex Rubinstein posted a statement from one of Smash Racism DC’s “organizers” who was “involved” in the Wednesday incident.
“Here is a statement sent to me from one of the Smash Racism DC organizers involved in the protest at Tucker Carlson’s home last night,” posted Rubinstein via Twitter, along with the attached statement.
“Protests are a disruption of the peace, that’s the point,” starts the statement. “‘If we don’t get no justice. Then you don’t get no peace’ was a common slogan during the height of the Black Lives Matter movement.”
“Being a target of a direct action is uncomfortable and Tucker should sit with that,” the statement continued. “Maybe he can show more empathy toward Queer people, Black people, the poor, refugees, migrants, and the many other people who hold scars from our society. Tucker’s promotion of white supremacy has real-world consequences and he knows this.”
“While Tucker’s wife may have been scared and hid in the pantry, imagine the trauma from across the board from right-wing attacks,” the statement adds, noting nonspecific victims of the Right, which includes people with “gender dysphoria,” “being homeless,” people “dying” without healthcare, and sexual assault victims.
The statement concludes, “Tucker is a propagandist for the status quo and promotes fascist politics. He should be held accountable and forced to think about the affects his views has on other people.”
A police report filed on Thursday over the incident confirmed that the attack has been classified as a “hate crime.” The door was beaten on by the mob and their cars and house door were covered in political messages.
