Exactly what Ive been saying. A straight stock split it reduces by a factor of 20, a dividend does the same But the market if buyers of the stock thinks its a going forward blue skys with great profucts and revenue just on the horizon , then it may reduce by a lot less , thats asking a lot . Now if everybody holds and doesnt sell it should hold some of its vallue . If theres a dash to the door to sell and get even or recoup past losses then you know why would anyone buy it when theres so m,any shares for sale and the price is dropping. It will adjust but in a lot of case its the same result as a straight stock split in the end unless theres something to bolster it and keep it up. As a tax rule , from what I have learned tazes on a stock dividend are not due until you sell the shares and shold be qualified so its at the cap gains rate. Still everyone should check it with an acc.JMHO Im not giving any advice here.
