Pragmatically speaking about 'solar' ; what is the latest on QD-solar efficiency ratings ? Have they become, in any way, viable & competitive with any of the various commercially-available solar products on the market..or are they still in the bench-testing phase ? Last I heard, the scientific community had only recorded a max 10 or 12% eff (presumably on a bench test), after all these years...which still leaves quite a way to go to be competitive [w/ min of 15 or 16%]. I know the story on LCOE & how efficiency numbers don't matter & all that, but it still doesn't appear [to me] like there's any QD-solar product anywhere near ready to enter the marketplace, even with the LCOE caveat to help make the numbers work, any time soon. I don't know that anyone has ever even constructed a full size QD-solar panel for that matter !?!
Not wanting to be the wet blanket here...but it what it is, whatever that is ?
