My maternal grandparents were from Germany and my grand-mama worked as an actuary for the city of NY in the World Trade Center when it first opened- she was brilliant, calculates in every way, cold as ice, and never ever got a single joke or witticism of mine, nor did she understand sarcasm, which is something that I have raised to whole new levels in my daily life
