IMO:
Anyone selling anything would not complain about the product or service they are selling/providing. ACI claims the what to be honest and transparent, that's all fine and good. Yes they stated that the phones would be in this week, they had option A: Say there was a delay. B: Say they needed to complete the website and/or eCommerce that needed a few tweaks. C: Say that Utop has postponed the release/not ready for it.
Say nothing.
Instead they not only made themselves look unprofessional and sketchy. They use wording like were not what we were promised, very disappointed and upset, promised completed phones with logos and packaging, Instead of hiding the truth, honest from day one, we wanted to be honest and transparent, and be transparent, we felt transparency was the correct way to handle the situation. These are all things that us longs have been wanting Utop to be. Then they go ahead and say to "contact Utopya" If they have any sense of trying to understand and connect with their potential customers then they would be reading this board and the Iscum board and would damn well know that none of us can contact the company and get any info.
There is no way that UTOP sent them these BS phones (ok shit happens 8% chance) but even so, then you contact the company you don't bash your product or the company that makes it (YOUR ONLY PRODUCT) at that.
I'm going with the theory of these are some generic phones that either a pissed off prior investor, a basher, a manipulator, a paid by other(s) got to either play prank, make money or both. good chance they will end up in jail if the company pursues action.
Lets be real here. Utop has been silent, they are either under strict NDA's, still waiting for ticker change, just don't want to say anything because whatever they say seems to bite us in the ass somehow, or all of the above.
Does anyone really think that they would be dealing with a startup (USA smartphone distributor) that doesn't even have a website? Would you send the phones (with proprietary software and hopefully some cutting edge features) that have been delayed to everyone else to some guy(s) working out of a house that would take pictures of the "not what was promised" phones on your bathroom vanity? I did have hopes of seeing the product launched but I for one think not.
And even if they did deal with a startup distributor, ACI would not be the ones exclusively bringing them to the market at their discretion for release.
This stunt was actually well exercised whatever the reason was. I am still comfortable with my investment. I am a little pissed that I bought shares yesterday and wish I could catch the fallout come Monday, but hey, story of my buys....
