Scaramucci: During the Kavanaugh fight, Trump's ma

Democrats love to claim that President Trump lacks the temperament to lead our nation, but their behavior during the Kavanaugh confirmation showed that he was the real grown-up in the room.
Before Brett Kavanaugh was even nominated to the Supreme Court, liberal activists — and even a sitting Democratic senator — had already declared their unbending opposition to the nominee, or, as one pre-written press release infamously referred to him: “XX.”
The left only became more unhinged as the process unfolded, leaking Christine Blasey Ford’s allegation against her stated wishes in a desperate attempt to keep Kavanaugh off the court following his confirmation hearing by the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Democratic senators were so obsessed with defeating Kavanaugh’s nomination that they abandoned any semblance of respect for fair dealing.
Sen. Chris Coons, a member of the Judiciary Committee, actually asserted that Kavanaugh “bears the burden of disproving these allegations,” while Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer declared that “there is no presumption of innocence.”
Sen. Cory Booker went even further, stating that Kavanaugh’s supporters were “complicit in evil” for daring to question the veracity of a 36-year-old allegation that conveniently surfaced just in time for Democrats to turn it into a political weapon.
Grievance-mongering, left-wing activists picked up the baton, whipping themselves into a fit of hysteria far out of proportion to the facts.
In defiance of Senate rules, but with the apparent complicity of Democratic lawmakers, liberal protesters shouted, held signs and otherwise did anything they could to disrupt the follow-up hearing.
Man Caught Paying Off Kavanaugh Protesters Works for a Soros NGO
Quote:
Vinay Krishnan, the man who was caught paying cash to protesters, is a so-called ‘social-justice’ lawyer who works for The Center for Popular Democracy, which receives the bulk of its funding from George Soros. The Center for Popular Democracy announced last May that it was setting up an “$80-million anti-Trump network that will span 32 states and have 48 local partners.” The goal of the organization is to oppose voter ID laws and promote automatic voter registration programs. -GEG
Identifying Sen. Jeff Flake as the weakest target, two activists cornered him in an elevator and berated him, after which Flake became the pivotal voice demanding a supplemental FBI investigation that dragged the painful process out even further.
Americans witnessed scenes of utter absurdity, including groups of middle-aged white people shamelessly singing “We Shall Overcome” outside a senator’s office while two black police officers stood by to maintain order.
Through it all, President Trump never took the Democrats’ bait, and never wavered in his support for Kavanaugh. Indeed, he acted downright presidential.
After Ford and Kavanaugh both testified in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, the President adopted a neutral tone, praising Ford’s “very compelling” testimony and calling her “a credible witness” and “a very fine woman,” but also lauding Kavanaugh for his “powerful, honest and riveting” testimony.
Even when the Democrats demanded that FBI investigation in a transparent last-ditch effort to prevent Kavanaugh’s nomination, Trump calmly agreed, expressing confidence that his nominee would ultimately be vindicated.
The President repeatedly stated that the FBI should investigate anything it considered relevant, but the Democrats almost immediately alleged that the White House was undermining the investigation, making clear that they would accept nothing short of a guilty verdict against Kavanaugh in the court of public opinion.
That’s when Trump put his foot down. The President highlighted the gaps and inconsistencies in Ford’s testimony in order to remind voters that Democrats were trying to deny Kavanaugh the presumption of innocence that all Americans have a right to.
Throughout the Kavanaugh nomination, the Democrats showed themselves to be juveniles on a playground with no rules.
Following Trump’s lead, Republican senators joined together to regain control of a process gone mad. Sens. Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, Susan Collins and others stood for justice and fairness, while their counterparts on the other side of the aisle stood for unwieldy and unsavory behavior unbecoming of adults, let alone national leaders.
But it was Trump who was steady as a rock and confident in his convictions, biding his time and watching patiently from the sidelines until his moment came to bring an end to the insanity.
