Update - Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018
Greetings HHSE Friends & Followers - Super quick BLOG update on a few issues of interest:
1). FRED SHEFTE - Released from Hospital! - Fred is being released this afternoon from Washington Regional Medical Center. Although he still has some ongoing treatments (and an upcoming heart procedure), he has recovered sufficiently to be discharged and approved for work-from-home (or office... just no "heavy lifting" type strains). We welcome his assistance on a wide-range of operational tasks that he has so seamlessly been handling for 9+ years.
2). THE RIOT ACT - We are honored to announce that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (Golden Globes) and the Motion Picture Academy (Oscars) have formally ACCEPTED "The Riot Act" for competition, and have scheduled the official membership screening. The title was previously entered into consideration for the Independent Spirit Awards and the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Critics have been drawing special attention to the performances of lead actors BRETT CULLEN and LAUREN SWEETSER. "The Riot Act" is adding the Harkins Bricktown (Oklahoma City) this weekend, and ten additional theatrical markets for Oct. 19.
3). GETTING GRACE - Through the Sony Distribution pact, DVD pre-orders have now been received for WALMART, TARGET and BEST BUY, with a "street date" coming right up: TUESDAY, NOV. 6. There is a focused campaign of ads, publicity and targeted outreach (including the Christian-movie markets), to support the Nov. 6 street date... with the goal of trying to HOLD shelf placement through Black Friday.
UPDATE: As previously disclosed, HHSE is the worldwide distributor for GETTING GRACE in all media ...... (portion omitted)
AUDIT-UPLIST / OPERATIONAL & LEGAL UPDATES:
Oct. 11 - 2018
Yesterday (Tuesday, Oct. 10) turned into an unexpected road-trip as an out-of-state Press Check for the GETTING GRACE "Outer O-Card Sleeves" monopolized the day. In any event, here are some quick updates on issues not covered on Monday.
A). Audit-Uplist - With Fred Shefte now released from the hospital, the freight allocation worksheets (and their impact on producer statements) should be reviewed and finalized this week.
. Operational Issues - The unexpected timing for "GETTING GRACE" into major video chains for November 6 has created a bit of a scramble for packaging, replication, and freight fulfillment issues... but all are being handled and the title is set for November 6. Other operational issues and titles are less urgent.
C). Legal Updates - The legal filings to effectively "freeze" all activities regarding JSJ and Bedrock matters were on hold during Shefte's hospitalization. However, with his release, we anticipate these motions being completed for filing within the next week. The legal strategy being pursued is similar to HHSE's successful motions in stopping another toxic lender, TCA Global Master Fund, from the enforcement of fraudulently obtained judgments.
D). MyFlix - HHSE C.E.O. Eric Parkinson held some important meetings in Los Angeles last week with principal (and prospective) MyFlix Supplier Studios. Although it's quite tempting to say "guess who we are negotiating with?" - better form suggests awaiting formal (joint) announcement of key new suppliers. Meanwhile, the laborious process of uploading /on-boarding titles for this massive library continues - as the MyFlix site will clearly be among the top echelon of streaming sites in terms of total programming.
ENHANCED DETAILS ON THESE FOUR TOPICS WILL BE PRESENTED VIA THIS BLOG IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS.
After more than a DOZEN packaging concepts, HHSE was able to get the producer clients (including Redbull) to accept a DVD package for RIDE UNITED. The winning choice is the very first design on the left side of the top row.
GETTING GRACE writer-director-star DANIEL ROEBUCK sports his "Geico Alexander Graham Bell" Silver Locks for the home video release marketing meeting with ERIC PARKINSON and the outside P.R. / Marketing team last Friday
Color always makes a movie ad POP off the page - as demonstrated in the current issue of L.A. WEEKLY, featuring the ad for THE RIOT ACT at the Laemmle Fine Arts, Beverly Hills.
With Cast and Crew from THE RIOT ACT known to be in attendance, some notable MEDIA showed up on Friday night at the Laemmle Fine Arts Theatre in Beverly Hills... including US WEEKLY and I-Hollywood TV. Even DAN ROEBUCK from "Getting Grace" grabbed the chance to speak with national media about the November 6 home video release of his movie!
