In talking specifically about the appeal, I'm just saying that due to what I have seen and heard about this case in it's court process, I don't set my expectations of a resolution before then.
As to any of the cases including the appeal, of course they could settle at any point including before the appeal resolves, or before they complete their buyouts, or the purchaser(s) could assume potential liabilities, or some other mechanisms dealing with a potential liability could be present in the buyout contracts.
