BlockSafe Technologies, a US-based company that provides cybersecurity services for blockchain systems, announced on Tuesday that it would launch the presale round of its security token offering (STO), a form of fundraising that resembles initial coin offering (ICO). However, security tokens give investors ownership in the private equity of a company and sometimes provide voting rights. The BlockSage ERC-20 security token, with the ticker BSAFE, is a revenue-generating token that is compliant with Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations.
The presale event precedes a token offering aiming to raise $27 million. The STO is scheduled for the end of 2018. The company intends to use the money to commercialize and promote its blockchain security products.
The company chief technology officer Ram Pemmaraju stated:
“Our mission is an important one, $9 million is stolen each day from individual wallets and the fear that this lack of security fosters is the single largest obstacle to mass consumer adoption of cryptocurrencies and the technology behind them.”
“BlockSafe will secure the blockchain ecosystem. We recently launched our pioneering app CryptoDefender, and are now looking towards the future and securing both exchanges and private blockchains,” he added.
Pemmaraju refers to the recently launched mobile and desktop application CryptoDefender, which helps clients secure their crypto wallets from theft and hacks.
CryptoDefender is only the first of a three-layer solution, which also comprises ExchangeDefender and BlockchainDefender. ExchangeDefender, which is in beta form at the moment, enables the protection of the internal systems at cryptocurrency exchanges. The last solution, BlockchainDefender, aims to protect permissioned blockchain systems by letting enterprise clients add several protective layers, such as Authentication, Content Filtering, Transaction Verification, DDoS Mitigation, Load Balancing, and a Secure Firewall.
BlockSafe CEO and co-founder George Waller said that there was “no other product on the marketplace that offers this level of security for blockchains.”
BlockSage is a subsidiary of StrikeForce Technologies, a provider of cybersecurity services to individual clients, companies, and government agencies.

Issuance Inc, a marketing platform focused on digital securities, announced on Monday a partnership with Securitize, a blockchain-oriented startup that helps clients tokenize real-world assets. The deal will enable the two parties to share their experience and succeed in the digital securities market.
Securitize offers a Software as a Service (SaaS) tool that helps companies and funds tokenize their digital securities in line with the relevant regulatory requirements. The company handles the entire set of processes, ensuring compliance and providing investment management solutions during the lifetime of the digital asset.
Issuance CEO Darren Marble commented:
“The ultimate objective of every digital securities issuer is to raise capital as quickly and as cost efficiently as possible.”
“Our partnership with Securitize will give its clients exposure to the right network of investors and increase their likelihood of funding. Conversely, Securitize offers a proven tokenization solution for Issuance clients, who seek compliant trading of digital securities across multiple markets and exchanges,” he added.
In the fast few months, Securitize has observed an increased number of client requests for deal marketing solutions. In order to handle the increased demand, the startup decided to collaborate with a company that offers such services.
Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo commented on the partnership:
“Securitize is committed to providing an end-to-end tokenization solution to our customers by creating an ecosystem of the best partners around our digital securities platform and protocol. We are very pleased to have partnered with a top firm like Issuance for such a critical and important service like marketing of the offerings.”
Securitize helps startups, funds, and asset owners issue tokens via Security Token Offerings (STOs). Several companies have already used its services, including Blockchain Capital, Coinmint, SPiCE VC, Realecoin, and Lottery.com.
On the other side, Issuance is currently developing the technology behind the upcoming marketing platform. However, the firm is already providing marketing solution to security token issuers that want to get closer to institutional investors and crypto-oriented hedge funds.
Marble said that Issuance had good relationships with several major active investors that are mostly unknown to broker-dealers.
