If Bril-OM is approved for those getting radiation

It is much, much cheaper to do a clinical trial for one type of cancer than it would be to do it for many cancers. For multiple types of cancer they would have to enroll a LOT more people in the study, and data analysis would be a nightmare.
But, if you know that ibuprofen helps your sore knee, chances are you're going to try it for your sore shoulder. When people start hearing that Bril-OM helped other cancer patients (on, for instance, patient chat rooms for various cancers), they'll want a prescription. How could an oncologist turn down a request for a simple oral rinse that has no systemic absorption?
It's a lot easier to turn down a request for an expensive IV treatment that involves a patient having to go to a clinic, and that might require prior authorization by a health insurance company.
