American citizens voted for Trump because he promised a border wall to protect and secure our country.
Do remember the first walls were built in San Diego almost 30 yrs ago.
The Border Patrol endorsed Trump because they know the wall is needed.

Border Patrol agents in Arizona discovered nearly 200 illegal immigrants in a remote desert area Sunday – the third major discovery over the last month.
Ajo Station agents patrolling several miles west of Lukeville Port found 102 illegal immigrants from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador and 91 illegal immigrants from the same area hours later, authorities said Wednesday.
Most were traveling with families, while at least 11 children were unaccompanied.
The 193 illegal immigrants were medically evaluated and transported to Ajo Station to be processed for immigration violations.
Ajo Station agents made similar discoveries over the last month.
Agents patrolling near the same port found 128 illegal immigrants from Guatemala, Honduras El Salvador and Mexico on Aug. 17. They were believed to be abandoned by smugglers.
Agents from the same station found 163 illegal immigrants from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador near Lukeville Port on Sept. 1.

Chris Crane, revealed the 5,000 officers within the organization, “come into contact with many of the most dangerous people in the world – cartel members, gang members, weapons traffickers, murder suspects, drug dealers, suspects of violent assault – yet ICE officer are unable to arrest or are forced to release many of the most dangerous back into U.S. communities due to unscrupulous political agendas and corrupt leaders.”
The wall would pay for itself by stopping hundreds of thousands of new welfare supported illegals.
Jorge Casteneda, who allegedly hates The Donald, listed out a series of ways Trump could demand the funds. While he might not receive a single check written “for the wall,” there are multiple indirect ways.
Casteneda told the Weekly Standard that Trump could, “increase the fee for visas, which is a decision made by the State Department, not by Congress, increase the toll on the bridges [between the two countries]… again, not done by Congress.”
He also suggested Trump could tax the remittances being sent from the US to Mexico through, “transaction fees, commissions, special fees etc.”
Trump could charge a $10 fee to enter the US from Mexico. That would bring in over $1M a DAY.
So while Mexico might not explicitly agree to pay for the wall, it can be funded with their dollars, not ours.
