This morning, shares of Aurora Cannabis were halted during pre-market hours. The reason for the halt was “pending news”. Earlier this week there was a report regarding Aurora Cannabis (ACBFF) (ACB), which said that Coca-Cola Co. (KO) has been in talks with the company. Though other reports cite that Coca-Cola declined to comment on Aurora, they expressed that the drink maker confirmed that it is closely watching the growth of non-psychoactive CBD as an ingredient in functional wellness beverages around the world. "The space is evolving quickly. No decisions have been made at this time," the company said in a statement.
According to the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada, trading halts are implemented to ensure a fair and orderly market. IIROC is the national self-regulatory organization, which oversees all investment dealers and trading activity on debt and equity marketplaces in Canada.
Shares of Aurora Cannabis have been on the rise for most of the month, in line with a number of other marijuana stocks.
