Good post. As far as beer sales "tanking" when MJ

Big alcohol companies will resist even if they suspect a small percentage drop in their beer sales. They would be wiser to find a way to invest instead of wasting their time and money on futile efforts to stop the inevitable.
People will still want their beer anyhow. Some may drink less, but most people that wanted to smoke weed HAVE BEEN smoking weed all along, and most people that like drinking beer will most likely continue liking it.
Legalizing grass simply provides for better selection, better and more consistent quality, and revenues that boost the economy instead draining it. Legalization will also help reduce the power of the cartels to corrupt and murder as a means of keeping what they have and taking even more.
Once the cash flow shifts, the grip those cartels have enjoyed on the police and government officials in the developing countries that supplied most of the stuff will begin to loosen, and they will be seriously weakened once those authorities are no longer on their payrolls or afraid of them.
It won't be an overnight fix, but a major step in the right direction. Probably rough and violent at first as the cartels fight to protect their interests, but they'll lose eventually. It will also help the economies in those developing countries like Mexico where the President elect intends to do the same.
More jobs, better pay and conditions, and money going into the economy which will boost the common welfare of all the people instead of a corrupt handful. A major win-win. Beer and liquor sales are not even close to a good reason to try and thwart legal MJ. Just a greedy, misguided one.
There are many phony bastards out there who use misinformation to influence public opinion to protect their profits just like we see on the OTC with penny stock manipulation. They even use paid puppets. They just cost more.
