Canadian companies, aided by legalization at the federal level, have access to capital markets and are well-funded. They have raised significant sums of capital, are rapidly merging with each other and are already trading on the New York Stock Exchange, the NASDAQ and over-the-counter. These Canadian interests are positioned to acquire American cannabis companies when they eventually make their way to the capital markets. This is the scenario I have talked about for months, and it is much like the dot.com era.
Eventually, mergers and acquisitions will take place on a nearly daily basis, and who knows what company UNVC investors will finally end up owning. The wheels are now turning at the Federal level, and the road to legalization (at least for CBD) is right around the corner. I wish I could say the exact date, but all I can say is that it is close and getting closer. Much will happen in this country this month, and then full legalization takes place in Canada in October --- this will impact the American cannabis firms in a big way. Then, we have the November elections and a whole new crop of Congress people looking to change the laws and regulation governing cannabis. I suspect we see significant changes at the agency level long before Congress makes it moves. Sit tight, pop some popcorn, and watch the fireworks. While waiting isn't easy, our time is coming. I expect lots of filings very soon, and lots of surprises as well.
