I don't believe there is a need to get Govt. into it. If MYDX had an option in its phone based software to shut down and start the pen, it would be a solid sales feature. The user could decide if and when they wanted their pen shut down.
If the Govt. legislates that all such devices require a lock, what are you going to do with all other cannabis based products to prevent their use. Why stop at cannabis, should we put a lock on everything containing alcohol or tobacco. I don't see that being necessary, but it's a nice feature for those who want to monitor the use of their pen on their mobile phone or computer.
I don't know the specifics of how much more the cost of our smart pens are by comparison with those that do nothing but permit one to indulge, but I suspect that if we can sell enough of them, the price won't be substantially greater and they'll be chosen by nearly all who consume. MYDX might sell the right to make the smart device to others and be paid each time a competitor sells a unit.
