Cybersecurity technology company Cyberfort Software, Inc. (OTC: CYBF) recently announced the signing of a letter of intent for the acquisition of Just Content Software. The announcement came in mid-August 2018, and a final acquisition determination is anticipated in a few weeks (http://nnw.fm/v9Nbm).
Upon completion of the acquisition, Cyberfort Software will own 100 percent of ‘Just Content’ App (the software and the underlying code). The app, currently available on iTunes, disables ads, unsafe links, adult content, phishing attempts and inflammatory hate speech online. The app features two variations – a home safe filter and a business filter.
Under the terms of the letter of intent, Cyberfort Software will tender shares of its stocks for the app and generate the capital for further development. A new product, Enterprise Suite, will also be developed through 2018.
Cyberfort Software CEO Daniel Cattlin said in a news release that the company is aiming to become a leader in the development of innovative ad blocking solutions. Security concerns are growing in this day and age as digital data abounds and is more readily accessible than ever. “Signing this LOI with Just Content is another strategic step forward for CYBF, as we continue to offer superior software solutions that create a safer online environment for both individuals and businesses,” Cattlin added.
Internet ad spending is growing all the time, which signifies that users will be exposed to more commercial content than ever before. According to 2017 statistics, an internet user sees 11,250 ads per month (http://nnw.fm/9zjNJ). The overexposure is affecting the behavior of internet users, with click-through rates (CTR) for ads going down. Across all formats and ad placements, the average CTR is 0.05 percent. The low value could also be indicative of growing numbers of people relying on ad blocking software (http://nnw.fm/t9afF).
It is estimated that, by the end of 2018, 30 percent of all internet users will rely on ad blocking software to access solely the content in which they’re interested (http://nnw.fm/63ArP). The number of devices that have ad blocking software installed reached 615 million in 2017 – an increase of 30 percent on an annual basis (http://nnw.fm/QO2pE).
Ad blocking software adoption is currently widespread on desktop and laptop computers. Developers predict that the use of such software will soon begin affecting the manner in which people utilize their mobile devices, as well, in that a growing number of smartphone and tablet users will install ad blockers on their devices.
The American Marketing Association reports that, today, roughly 11.7 percent of all impressions are being blocked due to advertising, unsolicited or dangerous content (http://nnw.fm/U7skB). Users are becoming more aware of the aggressive nature of digital advertising, undertaking actions to ward off commercial content more habitually than ever before. The primary reasons for the employment of such software include being shown irrelevant ads (49 percent of people), being exposed to too many ads (40 percent), perceiving online ads as intrusive and experiencing device slowdown because of unsolicited commercial content.
Privacy, security and content filtering rank among Cyberfort Software’s primary concerns as a cybersecurity technology company. The organization is actively dealing with cyber threats through the development of innovative protection solutions for both end users and organizations, designed for mobile, personal and business tech devices across multiple platforms.
With Just Content’s acquisition, Cyberfort Software will take one step further toward its goal of becoming a leading developer of cutting-edge protective software that keeps the internet safe for families and business, which Cattlin noted as a “significant concern in today’s highly technological and immediate information-access society.”
