The book, at the heart of the matter, is just another money grab. Same with the Nike marketing campaign with Kaep. I read several posts about the, "sky falling," and "short Nike," and "let's burn the swoosh." Overreaction at best. What these folks don't realize is Nike doesn't make decisions in a bubble. They survey, they do their demographics and psycho-graphics, and they know their audience; and that audience sure as hell ain't the few folks who are burning their swoosh and, "Big and Rich" tearing up their Nike gear. I laugh my ass off at folks thinking that Nike is going to tank in the market as a multi-billion dollar company with a youthful clientele, who actually AGREE with Kaep.

I also have heard multiple calls from Vets coming into the radio shows I listen to, political and otherwise, saying this is the reason that they have risked their lives, so that people like Kaep, could have the freedom to express himself; even though I don't agree with the form of expression and the manner in which he did it. I wonder if these commandos will go all the way with their disdain for Nike?? Are they going to drop the NFL? Drop the NBA? Forget about college basketball and the US Open?? Nike has their logo in each of these sports and are weaved throughout our culture. I wonder how deep the hypocrisy runs? You can't be half pregnant. If you're ready to dump Nike, dump everything associated with it too. Otherwise you're not half full of shit, you're fully full of shit.

Same with the book. Money, five more minutes of fame for Woodward, and plenty of protest, book burning, plenty of tweeting from the Schmuck at the top and it'll all go away whether its 2 years, 4 or 8. Sorry for the mini rant.
