(Nasdaq: FUSB) (the “Company”), the parent company of First US Bank (the “Bank”), headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, announced today the closing of its acquisition of all of the outstanding capital stock of The Peoples Bank, headquartered in Rose Hill, Virginia (“Peoples”), and the subsequent completion of the merger of Peoples with and into the Bank.  As a result of the transaction, the former offices of Peoples are now offices of the Bank and will operate under the name “First US Bank.”
