Credo to Demonstrate 100G Mixed-Signal DSP for 100
Post# of 301275
SHENZHEN, China, Aug. 31, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Credo, a global innovation leader in high performance, low power connectivity solutions for 100G, 200G, and 400G port enabled networks, today announced it will demonstrate its 100G single lane rate mixed-signal Digital Signal Processing (DSP) solutions to enable 100G per lambda optical connections at the 2018 China International Opto-electronic Exposition (CIOE). The conference starts today at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center, Fuhua 3rd Rd, FuTian CBD, Futian Qu, Shenzhen Shi, Guangdong Sheng, 518000, China, with exhibits taking place from September 5 through September 8.
“Mega-datacenters will benefit tremendously when the technology to enable end-to-end 100G single lane matures,” said Jeff Twombly, vice president of marketing and business development at Credo. “Our demonstrations today are definite proof points that the optical connectivity is ready to move into volume production this year and will enable the 100G single lane radix for years to come.”
“100G single lane is the next critical technology and building block for the data center and a key enabler for next generation switches,“ said Alan Weckel, founder of 650 Group. “It will enable the move to 800G ports based on 8x100G connections, a port speed pivotal to Cloud growth for the next decade. 100G single lane will also have broad adoption beyond the Cloud and become common in enterprise and service provider networks.”
The 12.8Tbps generation of switch silicon is ramping. The mass adoption by the system vendors has been delayed due to the lack of 100G and 400G optical ports based on 100G per lambda optics. A critical component to enable production grade modules is the clock and data recovery device based on advance signal processing technology that can delivery to performance while not exceeding the power budget. The Credo CMX125100KP for IEEE DR optical modules and CMX425100P for IEEE DR4 optical modules utilize Credo’s unique low power, mixed-signal DSP technology to deliver the necessary system level solution features while achieving the low power to allow production module deployments. The low power devices are manufactured in 28nm process technology, are sampling now, and will moving into fully qualified, high volume manufacting in the forth quarter of this calendar year.
