PALO ALTO, Calif., Aug. 30, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Rubrik, the Cloud Data Management company, today announced that Polaris SaaS application, Radar, has received two Best of VMworld 2018 Awards: the Gold Award for Security and Best of Show. This marks the third year in a row that Rubrik has won Gold at VMworld, as well as the second year in a row that Rubrik has won Best of Show.
The Best of VMworld 2018 U.S. Awards recognize the most innovative new products in the server virtualization, cloud, and end-user computing markets. An independent team of judges consisting of experts and editors from SearchServerVirtualization.com reviewed and evaluated 75 products for innovation, value, performance, reliability, and ease of use.
Judges for the Security category commented that Radar showed Rubrik “gave serious thought to security and ransomware monitoring in the data protection space.” Built on the Polaris SaaS platform, Radar empowers enterprises to respond faster to security attacks by delivering deep intelligence on how an attack impacted their business-critical application data. In the event of an attack, such as ransomware, enterprises can now minimize business disruption and data loss by recovering in just a few clicks across their entire environment.
“We are honored to receive Best of Show for 2018 and 2017, and our first Gold Award for Security, in recognition of our leadership in the data management and security spaces,” said Arvind Nithrakashyap, Co-Founder and CTO, Rubrik. “Ransomware is top of mind for IT executives, and enterprises must couple strong prevention measures with fail-proof recovery. When attacks happen, Radar can quickly detect, assess, and recover from ransomware attacks.”
Since its first Best of VMworld Gold award for data protection at VMworld Europe 2016, Rubrik has continued its market and product momentum. In addition to winning Best of Show at VMworld U.S. in 2017 for data protection in its Alta 4.0 release, Rubrik announced earlier this year a global bookings run-rate approaching $300 million. The company also added veteran executives John W. Thompson, Chairman of Microsoft, and John Chambers, former CEO at Cisco, to its ranks. Thompson joined Rubrik’s Board of Directors and Chambers joined as a Board Advisor.
