If short sellers are indeed to blame for PTOI's flagging share price, going private would make the shorts have to cover and disappear. The ridiculous daily commentary of how $500 worth of trading volume somehow was manipulation to drive the price down or destroy PTOI would also disappear. Virtually all investors here seem to be very long-term holders anyway and, with sales or production "just around the corner," they shouldn't have to wait long for 'generational wealth'.
I don't believe there is any significant short interest but if there is, longs who are battling them to to try to get the share price up have certainly been losing. On more than one occasion, PTOI investors have also advocated for less transparency because they believe anything said by PTOI just gives the alleged massive short position more ammunition. Taking PTOI private would be an absolute win for everyone.
