Hillary Clinton's Forgotten Gala Hollywood Fundraiser
Hillary Clinton with Peter Paul the largest hidden donor to her 2000 Senate campaign. Taken at private reception with Hillary after the concert portion of Gala Hollywood Farewell Salute to President Clinton, August 12, 2000.
Peter F. Paul, a major contributor to Bill and Hillary Clinton when they were still in the White House, is alleging that he gave the Clintons $2 million in campaign contributions to Hillary Clinton’s Senate bid in 2000 that she did not report. In that race, the legal limit on contributions from donors was $2,000.
Paul organized and hosted a headlining grabbing fundraising gala that included Cher, Diana Ross, Paul Anka, Melissa Etheridge, and many of Hollywood’s top actors.
Paul was a thrice-convicted felon at the time, a fact that wasn't known to the Clintons or aides who were working to set up the gala, according to a lawyer for the Clintons.
NOTE: THE CLINTONS DIDN'T VET A GUY WHO IS THROWING A $2,000,000 GALA FOR THEM??
In the late 1970s, Paul was convicted of conspiring to defraud the Cuban government of $8.75 million by selling it a nonexistent shipload of coffee beans, and of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. He served about 40 months in prison.
Multiple felonies were committed! The media covered it up and the campaign was fined for a reporting violation.
$1,000 a ticket, $25,000 per couple if you wanted dinner – was to benefit New York Senate 2000, a joint committee consisting of Hillary Clinton's campaign committee, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and the New York Democratic Party.
Paul claims on camera that by producing it, which he later says cost him nearly $2 million, he sealed the deal he wanted: Bill Clinton promised to work with him after he left office.
A California court ruled Tuesday that Hillary Clinton will not be a defendant in a fraud lawsuit brought by Hollywood mogul Peter Paul, who claimed the Clintons destroyed his business after he raised millions for her first Senate campaign in 2000. But she could still be a material witness and be required to testify about what she knew concerning alleged illegal campaign fundraising…
However, Paul’s lawsuit is still in play against the senator’s husband, former President Bill Clinton, the Clintons’ business associate Jim Levin, and Hollywood producer Gary Smith, who were all involved in a Hollywood fundraiser, orchestrated by Paul, for Sen. Clinton’s first Senate run in 2000.
…In April, Paul obtained a videotape that showed the former first lady helping to plan the event, which Paul said would constitute an illegal in-kind contribution. Cybercast News Service first reported the existence of the tape in April.

August 18, 2000: Three days after telling the Washington Post that Peter Paul made no contribution to the August 12, 2000 Gala and that her campaign would not accept contributions from him, Hillary sent this letter to ensure Paul would not contradict her false story to the Post.
Woops! Another Illegal Donor For Hillary Clinton- From Japan
Plenty of Bill and Hillary’s pals know Tendo Oto. After all, they met him at the gala Hollywood fundraiser in 2000. Here he is, sitting right behind the Clintons at the Peter Paul concert.
…It is illegal for a foreign national to be at a candidate’s fundraiser. Oto gave 27 grand to help pay the expenses of the big event. He, of course, has no Social Security number, which is what the Secret Service begins with in the vetting process. They don’t know much about him. There is no time to check the guy out.
Peter Paul tells Bill of the problem. Well, shazaam, that’s not a problem. If he pays, he plays. Let the guy have a good time. It’s not like he’s some shady character who sold missile technology to the ChiComs or was part of the Russian Mafia dealing in black market nuclear technology. Tendo Oto, come on down. How nervous do you think the Secret Service was?
But there are more people coming to the party. Oto has a camera crew from Japan that he wants to use to memorialize his exploits on film. The rules were that no outside news crews were allowed. Again, no problem. The exiting president told the Secret Service to stand down on those folks also.
