Yes, if you check that POS site ihub you can see the typical cast of characters that show up when a stock is being shorted.
E*TRADE and some other market makers thought they could help usher a closing of the short interest by issuing a fake cash dividend that was rescinded after 3 days. They then told those who received the dividend that it was a mistake by the company. The company claims it had nothing to do with the divi whatsoever. E*TRADE and others then decided to call it a margin call in order to go back and collect the fake dividend. For those who already spent or moved the money E*TRADE and co decided to seize the shares of FAGI in those accounts and sell them at market price as the price also drops. They were able to cover a portion of the short by doing this. I think their original intent was that people would have immediately reinvested the dividend, then tank the SP so people would sell to them on the bid, allowing them to cover even more. I believe the fake dividend was a planned event that failed miserably for them.
Now there is a merger on the table. If this succeeds the price shall rise considerably and these stuck shorts will be in a panic.
