Keith Ellison hit with MAJOR abuse allegations days before important primary election
Deputy chairman of the Democratic National Committee Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) has been accused of abuse, days before a key primary election.
In a Facebook posting on Saturday, the son of Sierra Club activist Karen Monahan, claimed Ellison was physically and emotionally abusive while in a relationship with his mother.
“In the middle of 2017, I was using my moms computer trying to download something and I clicked on a file, I found over 100 text and twitters messages and video almost 2 min long that showed Keith Ellison dragging my mama off the bed by her feet, screaming and calling her a ‘f**king bitch’ and telling her to get the f**k out of his house,” Austin claimed.
“The messages I found, were mixed with him consistently telling my mom he wanted her back, he missed her, he knew he f**ked up and we wished he could do things different, he would victim shaming, bully her, and threaten her if she went public. I text him and told him I know what you did to my mama and a few other things,” he explained.
Austin, her son said he and his brother talked to their mother, who had never spoke of the abuse, but that she also urged them to not go public with the allegations, claiming it was not in her best interest.
“My mom has always tried to protect me and my brother. She doesn’t have to protect us anymore and we aren’t letting her stand alone,” Austin wrote.
On Sunday, Monahan took to twitter and backed up her sons claims.
What my son said is true. Every statement he made was true.@keithellison, you know you did that to me. I have given every opportunity to get help and heal. Even now, u r willing to say my son is lying and have me continue to leak more text and info just so others will believe him

A Star Tribune reporter went to Monahan’s apartment on Sunday and spoke through a call-box to a woman who said she was Karen Monahan. She said she was not ready to talk and was focused on her children and family. “This is a really difficult time,” she said.
Monahan’s son, Austin Aslim Monahan, posted that he watched a video on his mother’s computer in which Ellison could be seen dragging Monahan off a bed as he screamed profanities at her.
“This video does not exist because I never behaved in this way, and any characterization otherwise is false,” Ellison’s statement read.
On her Twitter account Saturday night, Karen Monahan defended her son’s post: “That was my son who posted it and its true. He wouldn’t lie about his own mom.”
She reiterated that statement Sunday afternoon, tweeting: “Every statement he made was true. @keithellison, you know you did that to me. I have given every opportunity to get help and heal. Even now, u r willing to say my son is lying and have me continue to leak more text and info just so others will believe him.”
His opponent Debra Hilstrom posted a tweet condemning Domestic Violence and demanded Ellison answer to the allegations.
Ellison has denied the allegations.

You’re not the man I thought you were.’” It wasn’t until after Ellison reached out to Monahan and inquired about her son’s text, she claims, that her son confronted her about what he saw..
In a screenshot of a December 2017 text message, which was sent to MPR News by Monahan Sunday evening, Monahan confronts Ellison for the first time that a video exists of the alleged abuse.
“We never discussed — the video I have of you trying to drag me off the bed,” Monahan wrote to Ellison, quoting the abusive language he allegedly shouted at her.
Ellison did not respond to that message or others that followed.
The video has not been shared publicly, and was also not provided to MPR. Monahan’s son told the Star Tribune that he does not have the video he saw last year.
Monahan has been tweeting about the abuse, without mentioning Ellison by name.
