Finally came hope as the west winds came in blowing the smoke to the east and giving us a break. Will watch each day to see where the smoke goes and keep away from it. One thing, as we were leaving, looking out the jet's window, it looked like a non moving nuclear bomb to the north whose smoke drifted into SF then to our town. Coming back, that was greatly reduced as the west winds had come in. If the winds move our direction again, we still might be able to get away from it by going to Palo Alto/Stanford. Hoping for the best. Some of the fire containment is naturally helping.
