2003 was taking my oldest son to a Perfect Game baseball event in a sub of Chicago.
Had to cross through a area. Believe the sign said something like ...
Roll up windows lock doors and stop for nothing the next 5 miles.
It apparently has gotten worse in 15 years
The problem is bigger than just Chicago. Have to change the culture...
I went dancing 2 weeks ago. Lady was really drunk and had been kicked out of the bar. Being a Illinois country bumpkin. I offered to give her a ride home. So I did. Roommate was apparently at the bar and had been fighting with her. Followed us to their apartment and arrived about 2 minute after we did. The roommate went into the kitchen got a kitchen knife and went after her. So I am on the living room floor with 2 women I don't know...wrestling a knife away from one. Apparently the war was over $20.
Long story short.... I was a Idiot for giving the ride. But I have to question how things have changed in 40 years since I was a kid. Simply this would not have happened 40 years ago...there are zero values out there especially in larger cities.
