Trump-Iran Warning: 'The American Apology Tour Is Over'

< >

The United States will no longer be bowing down to Iran. Sorry former President Obama, there’s a new sheriff in town and he’s made it clear -- the American apology tour is over!

It’s time for Final Thoughts.

On Sunday night, President Trump took to Twitter to deliver a stern all-caps warning to Iran.

“NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE. WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS!"

President Trump was responding to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s comments during a televised speech in Tehran, where he said "America must understand well that peace with Iran is the mother of all peace and war with Iran is the mother of all wars.” Rouhani also warned, “Do not play with the lion's tail or else you will regret it.”

Then Monday night, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif tweeted:

“COLOR US UNIMPRESSED: The world heard even harsher bluster a few months ago. And Iranians have heard them -- albeit more civilized ones -- for 40 yrs. We've been around for millennia & seen fall of empires, incl our own, which lasted more than the life of some countries. BE CAUTIOUS."

These threats from Iran just show, once again, how important it is that we play tough with Iran and keep up the sanctions pressure. They are bad actors, a threat to be taken seriously --- not handled with kid gloves.

President Rouhani must have been asleep at the wheel for the past two years because unlike President Obama, President Trump will not tip-toe around this rogue nation or any other.

Trump announced in May the United States was withdrawing from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal and last month the United States said it could impose sanctions on all exporters of Iranian oil.

The Iran Deal was never as much a deal as it was a list of concessions paving Iran’s yellow brick road to a nuclear arsenal. But no longer will we hand them questionable ransom cash payments, or billions in sanctions relief. While the deal banned them from developing nukes … it’s hard to imagine the money wouldn’t ultimately go toward that end.

Iran’s economy was already in trouble, with its currency dropping sharply in value against the dollar and a record amount of capital being taken out of the country last year.

Let’s get something straight: The United States of America does not need to appease Iran; Iran should be far more concerned with maintaining relations with us.

Those on the left and in the media who are all in a tizzy over Trump’s tweet should remember we didn’t elect this president to be nice, we elected him to get stuff done -- and he has!

He did the same thing with Kim Jong “Rocket Man” Un when he made it clear America's "nuclear button" was far larger than North Korea’s. The media freaked out then too, and insisted Trump would ignite WWIII on the Korean Peninsula. Then guess what? The two leaders sat down for a historic summit just last month and North Korea may now be closer than ever to denuclearization.

The same people who, just last week, were furious with Trump for working to restore diplomatic relations with Russia are now outraged with his tough warning to Iran, the No. 1 state sponsor of terror. Isn’t that ironic?

Is his style unconventional? Sure. Is it effective? You bet.

Finally, we have a president who believes in American exceptionalism and has a stiff backbone. That’s why we love him and that’s why we voted for him.

Those are my Final Thoughts. From LA, God Bless and take care.
