"On three occasions throughout the day, for a total of approximately 15-20 minutes, President Obama had an opportunity to speak with President Putin," White House spokeswoman Bernadette Meehan told reporters. "Their conversations covered Iran, Syria and Ukraine."

The leaders met Nov. 30 on the sidelines of the big climate change conference in Paris. It was their second face-to-face meeting in two weeks, after a small group session during the G-20 summit in Turkey.
