'Ready to Get Arrested' at March Against Gun Violence
Activists in Chicago who are demanding the resignation of Mayor Rahm Emanuel are planning a large march in the area of Wrigley Field in protest to the city's gun violence epidemic.
The protesters are upset over the lack of economic development on the South and West Sides of the city, compared to the North Side, as gang violence continues to plague the neighborhoods.
More than 1,600 people have been shot in Chicago this year, including three children who were recently wounded while playing basketball. Residents said after the shooting that the situation is so bad, children are being kept indoors for their safety.

Rev. Ira Acree, one of the organizers of Thursday's protest, said people are prepared to be arrested and some demonstrators may try to enter the iconic baseball stadium.
“We have people who are committed, who are ready to get arrested. And those who don’t, they’ll stay back. But certainly, people are going to get arrested," he said.
Fox News political analyst Gianno Caldwell, whose younger brother survived a shooting last year that killed his best friend, said Emanuel is "derelict in his duties" to protect the people of the city.
In a recent FoxNews.com op-ed, Caldwell referenced a line by rapper Kanye West in which he asked "Is it genocide?" - referring to black-on-black crime in the city.
"It feels like it is. ... The mayor has failed at every level," Caldwell told Shannon Bream.
He called on President Trump to intervene:
It’s my fervent hope that President Trump – who has frequently commented about the terrible violence plaguing the city – will intervene soon and provide federal law enforcement officers and funding to save lives of innocent men, women and children being gunned down every day in my hometown of Chicago.
Federal policing and security supports, in collaboration with local law enforcement, would be a good starting point for the president to take action.
On top of this, President Trump should fully fund programs aimed at positive alternatives to at-risk individuals before they fall into patterns of violence, using interventions shown to have long-term impacts on violent behavior
